Ingredients
- Main Components:
- 1 pound ground pork
- 12 ounces ramen or udon noodles
- 1/2 head green cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1 large carrot, julienned
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Flavor Builders:
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Seasonings & Spices:
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Finishing & Toppings:
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- 2 lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Prep Slaw & Sauce: Thinly slice cabbage, julienne carrots, and slice green onions. Whisk together low-sodium soy sauce, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes for your flavorful sauce.
- Cook Noodles: Cook ramen or udon noodles according to package directions until perfectly al dente. Drain them well and rinse with cold water to prevent sticking. Set aside until you’re ready to assemble your delicious Potsticker Noodle Bowl.
- Brown Pork: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground pork, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until the pork is nicely browned and thoroughly cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Flavor Pork: Pour about half of your prepared sauce over the browned pork. Stir well to coat every piece, allowing the flavors to meld and slightly thicken for 2-3 minutes. This builds the core savory taste for your Potsticker Noodle Bowl.
- Toss Slaw: In a large bowl, combine the thinly sliced cabbage, julienned carrots, and half of the sliced green onions. Pour the remaining sauce over these vibrant vegetables and toss gently to coat them evenly.
- Assemble Bowls: Divide the cooked noodles among four individual serving bowls. Top each noodle portion with a generous helping of the flavorful saucy pork mixture, then add a heap of the crisp prepared cabbage slaw.
- Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and the remaining green onions over each bowl. Serve immediately with a fresh lime wedge for an extra zesty and bright finish to your Ultimate Potsticker Noodle Bowl with Pork & Cabbage Slaw.
Notes
Rinse cooked noodles with cold water immediately after draining to prevent them from becoming sticky and clumpy.
Store components separately in airtight containers for 3-4 days to prevent soggy noodles and maintain crisp slaw.
Ramen or udon noodles can be easily substituted with lo mein, spaghetti, or rice vermicelli, cooked al dente.
Serve warm, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions, or top with a fried egg for rich, creamy goodness.
Prep the slaw and whisk the sauce up to one day in advance; cooked pork can be stored for 2-3 days.
